I have resorted to wearing finger-less gloves. I'm tall, so I have long fingers. It is impossible to find women's gloves that fit, and I'm too vain to wear men's.

I only take off my bra to sleep. After nursing four babies, I'm not so perky anymore, and I hate the sweaty feeling of skin laying on skin. It was even worse when I was pregnant. I'm so short-waisted that my boobs would rest on my belly. I wore a bra 24/7.

I oddly received about a dozen picture frames, in all sizes and shapes, from as many people. I kept the good ones and donated the rest. I hadn't registered for a single one of them, so it was weird that I got so many!

My DH is a little obsessed with the incident. He's read all the books by all the survivors, so he and I saw it the day it came out. I didn't know the story ahead of time, and I thought it was very good. It stuck with me for several days, but then the 3D made it really feel like you were there. Since he has read all the books, what is he take on the different people? Like what does he think of Krakauer? I haven't read all the books and am interested to read Anatoli Boukreev's account. Years ago we did a mountaineering course and the climbing guides didn't think a lot of Krakauer and seemed to put more stock in Bourkreev's account. I do think it's interesting that Krakauer has been vocal about his opposition to the movie. "Into Thin Air" was such a good book - it really made you feel what it was like to be on Everest (seems pretty darn miserable to me and really is more about being able to withstand everything). He neither likes nor dislikes Krakauer. He found "Into Thin Air" to be a good jumping off point for the others. A lot of the other climbers didn't trust Krakauer and didn't think he belonged there. My DH especially liked Lou Kasischke's book "After The Wind". I should have him respond. He can discuss details until the cows come home

My daughter had her surgery for a 50 degree curve three weeks ago. Her surgeon's mark for intervention was 45 degrees. She started her period in March, and her curve progressed rapidly. About 5 degrees in 4 months. We were told she would be completely folded onto herself within 12-18 months if we did nothing. It was a major surgery, but the doctor and the hospital made it so easy. They told us to anticipate 6 weeks before she was back to her normal self, but she is healing much faster than that. It was scary, but definitely worth it. My dd gained an inch in height that she's very happy with

Back in the day before cell phones, I moved into my very first apartment and had my new landline set up. That was the start of tons of telemarketing calls for "new homeowners". The most obnoxious one was for a roofing company. They left so many messages on my answering machine. One afternoon, I had had enough and decided to answer their call. I let the woman go on and on about her company's services. When she was done, I told her that it all sounded great, but she would need to contact the building owner since I couldn't afford an entire apartment complex's roof and would she like his number? I never received another call!

I lost my seasonal allergies after my first was born. I had stocked up on meds waiting for them to hit, and nothing. Still allergy free 15 years later.

I've been stressing out about my dd's upcoming spinal fusion surgery, and out of the blue, my best friend told me she's taking my other three kids for the week! It takes such a load off not having to worry about meals or getting tired kids home to bed. They will be having fun swimming and going to the park instead of bored out of their minds in a hospital. I feel so blessed! Best wishes on this! My son had a laminectomy and fusion about 8 months ago, and I, too, was stressed. I believe Patter's daughter also had a fusion recently. The relief afterwords is definitely worth it. That's good to hear. She's a dancer, so I'm hoping her strong abs will help her, too. She's also not worried or scared at all which worries me even more, lol!

My first car that I bought on my own was a Geo Metro. My dad's friend commented that the engine sounded less like turbo and more like turbie. So it's name became Turbie.
My current van is the Family Truckster.

Wow, I have a friend exactly like that too! She asks me if I want to do something, but then has no idea what she wants to do, and flakes 10 minutes before we are to meet. Finally I backed off, and we haven't seen or talked to each other in two years. It's a shame because we've been friends since third grade.

The idea was in the back of my head, but there was no way mine could be mistaken. First, my mom was a L&D nurse at the hospital where I delivered, so all the nurses had known me for years. Add to that, my first was ten and a half pounds, my twins were the only girls born that week, and my son was the spitting image of his oldest sister.

I'm wearing Zoya Rue. It's kind of a mauve-y nude, and I'm not sure if I like it. Maybe because I'm used to loud colors, it seems a little too lady like

My local Michael's was still completely stocked and nothing marked down. I took one of each to the price checker, and they were all $2.49. I got 14 sets for about $30. Yay!

I had a sociology professor who THOUGHT she was a celebrity because she had been invited to Clinton's inaugural ball. She was quite obnoxious about it.

My 15yo DD was just diagnosed a month ago with a 48 degree curvature. She is well past the point of no return with bracing, so it was straight to surgery. The surgery will be in August to fuse from T10 to L4. We were told it had to be done as soon as possible since that once it gets to 45 degrees, it will progress 1-3 degrees a month until she is done growing. She just started her periods two months ago, so they said she has a good two years of growth left. She is not afraid, but upset that she has to give up Irish dance. I hope her surgery goes well. Thank you!

We are taking a two week road trip to Washington DC and Williamsburg in June. Library days, beach days. Oldest DD has tickets for One Direction in July, then has spinal fusion surgery in August. Then it's all about convalescing in time for school!

I live in the same house as my mother, and she wants very little to do with my kids. When the kids were little, she acted offended that we'd ask her to watch the kids, but then would be angry if we called in a babysitter. But when it suits her, she will brag about how fabulous it is to have her grandbabies so close.
My father lives 18 hours away and hasn't seen my kids in 8 years. He always wants us to come visit him because it's "easier". If he still lived here, he would not be willing to watch the kids.
My MIL lives 500 miles away and keeps up with the kids via Facebook. Even if we lived closer to her, I would not allow her to watch my kids because her idea of babysitting involves her watching TV and letting the kids watch themselves.
